Platoon leaders up!
Storm a government black site.
And…? guess that’s all, folks!
So, this episode of Scarlet Nexus, we follow up to find that both Yuito and Kasane are set as fake heroes of their factions, and put in the position of commander over the top squad of their respective faction. On Yuito’s side, he also has a weird memory gap event. Supposedly this is caused by a mix of stress and being a psychic, but it seems more likely from the perspective of a viewer that a disturbed timeline might be the culprit. On Kasane’s side, she’s frustrated that Karen won’t let her see Naomi as he gives some quite sketchy answers about what’s going to happen to her, like he can and should just be trusted arbitrarily. One of her friends suggests playing along in order to ingratiate herself to the powers that be, and she just sort of goes along with it.
After getting Yuito looked at, his team is all at the Hospital. There, one briefly notices Nagi being ushered into a restricted area. They use clairvoyance to see that he’s put into a van and whisked away, and take an informed guess that he’s being brought to an old hospital in a ruined city. Sure enough, the old hospital is a government black site, and Nagi is inside. Yuito Squad breaks in through the initially silent locale and fight a boss-tier Other. Meanwhile, Nagi breaks containment and comes to see them, shambling on scene like a zombie And, with that, the episode ends.
Technically this wasn’t really a bad episode: we got some emotion out of both Yuito and Kasane, but as with many previous entries, it was a little light on the meat. I wish there was more to say about this one but… see you here again next week.
